Where it comes from

Fuel inthe ground

Petroleum contamination usually traces back to leaking underground or above-ground tanks, broken fuel lines, equipment and vehicle leaks, or spills during fueling and transfer. Gasoline, diesel and heating oil move down and outward through soil, and the visible stain at the surface rarely shows how far it actually went.

Alliance samples to map the release, excavates the impacted soil, and hauls it under manifest to an approved facility, then confirms with sampling that what's left meets cleanup standards.

Questions

Petroleum-Contaminated SoilFAQ

How do I know if soil is petroleum-contaminated?

Odor, staining or a known release are clues, but sampling and lab analysis are the only way to know the type and extent of contamination.

Does all the stained soil have to go?

Excavation is sized by sampling results and cleanup standards, not just visible staining. That keeps the dig and disposal costs right-sized.

Can you remove the tank too?

Yes. Alliance cleans and removes tanks and remediates the surrounding soil.

Where does the soil go?

It's characterized, manifested and hauled to an approved disposal or treatment facility, and you get the records.

Have fuel or oil in the soil?
